Suitcase Rummage at Brisbane Powerhouse tomorrow!

Here at Suitcase Rummage we've decided it's time to get crafty! So, as apart of our new POP UP Rummage's at BRISBANE POWERHOUSE we are hosting a community Crafternoon in the lovely greenery opposite the Rummage.

The details are:

Sunday May 25, 1pm - 4pm

At the Performance Lawn! This is the grassy area on the left of the Powerhouse building (not NewFarm Park). In short, find the Suitcase Rummage and you will find the Crafternoon set up opposite it!

BYO Craft projects and materials (this could be crochet, collage, writing, drawing, finger knitting, seed bombing, anything creative!)
BYO rug and cushion / chair to sit on
BYO imagination and willingness to craft!
BYO healthy snacks to keep you crafting!

It's FREE to attend the crafternoon!

We will provide some blankets and rugs to sit on, but we do ask you bring your own if you can.

Sunday May 25, 3pm

We also will be hosting a delightful talk with lovely local Pia Robinson from QUT Art Museum.

Pia Robinson is part of the curatorial team at QUT Art Museum and the William Robinson Gallery. She has undertaken study nationally and internationally, including Marketing the Visual Arts and Art as an Alternative Investment at Sotheby's Institute of Art London, Graduate Diploma in Arts Management from QUT and Bachelor of Fine Arts from QCA. Her previous employment, spanning over 10 years, ranges from Volunteer Tour Guide at the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, Archivist at Fire-works Gallery, Art Teachers' Aide, Membership Officer at Artworkers Alliance, Curatorial Assistant at Urban Art Projects, Queensland Coordinator at AbaF, Project Co-ordinator & Facilitator of Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art & Design workshop program, and Gallery Manager at Ryan Renshaw Gallery.

The Talk is FREE! It will happen at the same space as the Crafternoon, 3pm start!

We suggest arriving a little earlier than 2pm and have a Rummage through the market first :)

When it's hot in your suitcase, it's Cool In Gatta! (sorry)

We are peachy keen to announce our new partnership with Sunhouse Cafe in Coolangatta! We've found the ultimate spot for a regular Rummage right in the Borderlands for our Extreme Northern New South Welshman and ladies, and our Southern GC dudes and dudettes!!

For those of you yet to visit Sunhouse, they have this to say 'In the shadow of an industry, the local people demand a change. A surfboard shop with focus on customer service and unique, quality product. Sourcing the most interesting and functional collection of surfboards around.' They also make killer coffee, pack a lovely lunch and host some super fun events.

So! Don your favourite vintage sunbonnet and join us for our launch, June 7 as part of the very smooth Cooly Rocks On festival!
